Key encapsulation

Key encapsulation mechanisms (KEMs) are a form of encryption algorithm designed to secure cryptographic key material. Key encapsulation constructions are typically asymmetric (public-key) algorithms, although an equivalent symmetric notion is referred to as Key Wrap.
