Independent film-maker Earl Owensby, created a
Shelby, North Carolina motion picture studio active in the 70's and 80's. E.O. Productions made dozens of low-budget , action movies, many of which originally played on outdoor drive-in theaters throughout the South. Television producer Ray Livesay, Director/NYU Film professor Tierry Pathe, Ginger and Terri Alden, as well as numerous other actors first worked or honed their skills in Owensby productions."
The Abyss " was shot at E.O. Productions in an abandoned nuclear power plant containment vessel creating at that time, the word's largest underwater soundstage.External links
