John Ramey

John Ramey

John Ramey (b. 23 May 1978) is an American-born singer, songwriter, and journalist living in Los Angeles. He is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Ramey is known to cite obscure anecdotes regarding Stanford and San Jose State sports as his father, Hal Ramey, broadcasted their games; young John became exceedingly familiar (perhaps obsessed) with the subjects of his father's work. His musical and songwriting style are rather transparently influenced by the Beatles and Bob Dylan.

Music

Ramey currently performs in Los Angeles with his group the [http://myspace.com/alanbshepard Alan B Shepard Memorial Orchestra] . Ramey's debut solo album "Flying Blind" was released in October 2006. The record received sporadic airplay in Los Angeles on Watusi Radio,, and on internet radio stations in Amsterdam, and Knoxville, Tennessee in the months following its release. Sales have been alleged by Ramey to be modest but steady. Fact|date=March 2007

Ramey has also toured nationally with Grant Langston.

Ramey is the play-by-play voice of [http://athletics.ucr.edu/ UC-Riverside] women's basketball and baseball.

Ramey is a sports anchor for KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO in Los Angeles. In 2008, Ramey served as the play-by-play voice of the Puppy Games on Animal Planet.
