Litia Mara Dugdale

Adi Litia Cakobau Mara-Dugdale is a member of Fiji nobility, descended from the Vuanirewa Clan of Lau and the Tuisawau family of Rewa. She is the fifth child and fourth daughter of Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, Fiji’s first Prime Minister, second President and Tui Nayau (Paramount Chief of the Lau Islands), and was namesake to her mother Ro Lady Lala Mara, who was Roko Tui Dreketi (Paramount Chief of Rewa and Burebasaga). Mara-Dugdale sparked a fashion trend in Fiji with her wedding dress. It was made completely out of traditional tapa cloth, a fabric hand-made from the bark of the mulberry tree. The dress was made by famous New Zealand designer Annie Bonza and is now on display in the Fiji Museum.

She currently resides in Suva. Her last major public engagements in Fiji were the funerals of both her parents in 2004. She has two children, Michael Timoci Tavanavanua Dugdale and Charlotte Kathryn Maopa Mara Dugdale.
