A quick look at some incredibly impressive credits.
Leroy Hutson graduated with a bachelor in music fromHoward University , 1970. While still an undergraduate he co-wrote “The Ghetto” with room mateDonny Hathaway . He also wrote “Trying Times” forRoberta Flack , “Je Vous Aime Beaucoup” for Hathaway and “Gone Away,” co-authored withCurtis Mayfield andDonny Hathaway .Three months out of college he was asked to replace
Curtis Mayfield as lead singer ofThe Impressions . He stayed with them for two and a half standing ovation years before amicably leaving to pursue his own career as a writer, producer, arranger, musician. In 1973 he wrote, produced, arranged and recorded his first solo Album,
