Timur-Malik

Timur-Malik

Timur-Malik, also spelled Temür Malik, was the tenth Khan of the White Horde and a son of Urus Khan. Early in his reign, he invaded the lands of his cousin Toqtamysh and won a string of victories. Finally, Toqtamysh trapped him near Qara-Tal (Shore of the Aral Sea) and defeated him. Timur-Malik was killed in the battle.

Family

Timur Malik was a son of Urus Khan, and brother to Qutlugh Buga and Toqtaqiya. He had at least three sons: Pulad, Shadi Beg and Temür-Quthlug, all of whom became Khans of the Golden Horde. The latter of these sons was the khan who finally defeated Toqtamysh.
