Los Angeles Dodgers in the 4th round of the 1990MLB amateur draft, Busch would make hisMajor League Baseball debut with theLos Angeles Dodgers on August 30, 1995, and appear in his final game on August 10, 1996. Busch made news when he was the firstreplacement player to be promoted to a regular MLB roster after the1994 Major League Baseball strike . Because of his status as a replacement player, Busch was never allowed membership in theMLBPA Beginning in the 2005 season, Busch was named the head coach of the
Calgary Vipers , an independentminor league baseball team in the Northern League. The team has since moved to theGolden Baseball League . As of the beginning of 2008, Busch remains in that position.Awards
Busch was selected as an All-American for baseball (1989) after hitting .401 as a junior. MVP Big 8 Tournament, First team All Big 8 as a Tight End (1988 & 1989). Named consensus All-American at Tight End (1989) Walter Camp, Kodak, API and Coaches. Named Big 8 Male Athlete of the Year (1989-90). ISU Hall of Fame inductee 2000.
