Labour vouchers (also known as labour cheques, labour certificates, and labour-time vouchers) are a device proposed to govern
demand for goods insocialism , much asmoney does undercapitalism .Labour vouchers were first proposed in
1820 byRobert Owen . They were later advocated byKarl Marx in 1875 as a way of dealing with any immediate and temporary shortages upon the establishment of socialism. In Marx's proposal, socialist society would reward its citizens according to the amount of labor they contribute to society.ee also
