HMS Jumna

HMS Jumna

HMS "Jumna" was a British troopship, one of five built about 1865 (the others being HMS "Crocodile", HMS "Serapis", HMS "Euphrates" and HMS "Malabar").

It was commissioned jointly by the British Admiralty and the Indian government. [Sir Edward Reed, "The British Navy", "Harper's Monthly Magazine (European edition)", February 1886] In 1870 it transported The Connaught Rangers from India back to Britain.
