William Locker

William Locker

William Locker (born February 16, 1866 in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, and died August 15, 1952 in California, Derbyshire) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1894 and 1903.

Cricket career

Locker made his first appearance for Derbyshire in 1894, though he was not to make another appearance for the team until his County Championship debut in 1899, in an innings defeat to Worcestershire.

Locker did not appear again for Derbyshire until the 1901 season, which saw the team winless and bottom of the Championship table. Beyond this he only played one more County Championship game and was out of the team. During his time with Derbyshire, Locker was an upper-middle order batsman.

Football career

Locker also played association football and spent time with Stoke, Derby County and Notts County. Whilst with Notts County he appeared on the losing side in the 1891 FA Cup Final.
