- Woodsball scout
Woodsball scouts are players who fulfill the scouting, reconnaissance and light infantry needs of a
woodsball or scenarioball team in the sport ofpaintball .Play Style
Scouts are lightly armed and fast. Scouts tend to be chosen for their speed and initiative on the field. Most 'adrenaline jockeys' are assigned as scouts, because of the fast paced gameplay.
Speedball players trying to transfer over toWoodsball might want to start as a scout, as the scout's style of gameplay is similar to that of Speedball.trategic Applications
Usually, they are counted on by team command to 'take point' in front of a squad. In numbers, they can also act as a team's quick response force, hovering behind their team's front line and filling in the gaps as friendly players are eliminated. However, scouts' primary responsibilities lie in finding elements of the opposing team, and then leading elements of the scouts' own team to eliminate those opponents.
They may also work in squads with gunners. While the gunner uses his more powerful marker to keep the opponent ducking behind cover, the scout can flank the opponent for the elimination. This strategy utilizes both strengths of each position.
Equipment
Scouts carry a very light gearkit. Their marker choices can range from a simple side-arm to a light weight marker. If they choose a full marker, it should have a short, higher profile, allowing a center of gravity closer to the player, benefiting the player's quicker game by making the marker more maneuverable in close quarters.
