Leeds Model Company

The Leeds Model Company was a model railroad company.

The company made o gauge wooden coaches with lithograph sides and a very large range of model locomotives. Their quality was superior to that of most other companies at the time, including Bassett Lowke, which is widely accepted as the supreme company of the 1920s and 1930s.

The company also produced wagons and track and other accessories. After the war they released a limited range of sets and made their coaches and wagons out of bakelite.

History

Rex Stedman founded the Leeds Model Company in 1912. In 1928, he left to found another company. The Leeds Model Company ceased trading sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
