German submarine U-953

"U-953" was a German World War II Type VIIC submarine commissioned on 17 December 1942. U-953 served with the 5. Unterseebootflottille (U-Boat Flotilla) for training, with 3. Unterseebootflottille from 1 June 1943 to 14 October 1944, and 33. Unterseebootflottille from 15 October 1944 to 8 may 1945.

U-953 completed ten patrols and sunk one ship totalling GRT|1,927|first=yes. U-953 was transferred on 29 May 1945 from Norway to England and used by the Royal Navy for trials. U-953 was ultimately broken up in 1950.
