The stream begins just northeast of the mounaintop and the caldera of
Pico da Cruz in a cliffy setting that some bushes lies within these gorges. A main road linking several settlements in the valley lies for the rest of the ribeira's length up to Paúl, farmlands which are also in the slopey areas and several other types of trees lies in the valley within the distance between 200 and 400 m from the stream. The mountains surround almost the entirel length. The finally flows into the town of Paúl and empties into theAtlantic Ocean near the town centre as well as theLBRA1 road linking Ponta do Sol as well Ribeira Grande and Janela.Places within the stream
