- S.F. Altar Boys
The S.F. Altar Boys were a
San Francisco basedpunk rock group that existed between 1993 to 1998. Formed by singer/guitaristMattie B. and bassistChris 'Hellcat' Stewart the group recorded only one full length E.P. in 1994 titled S.F.M.F. The band was responsible for writing the song "Carnie showdown" featured inTodd Sheets horror movieThe Shivers , the song sat in the number one positions ofradio station 105.3fm 'punk rock playpen' for 11 weeks. Members of the band includedSuicide Machines guitaristLee Bone ,440 sixpack drummer Chris Scammin, andWalter Earl . After the success of groups first E.P. and a promisingVans Warped Tour the group disbanded and was never heard from again.Trivia
The S.F Altar boys only recorded three songs but sold fifteen thousand copies of their 1994 E.P.
The S.F. Altar Boys are a not to be confused with the
Altar Boys a Christian rock group, nor the Broadway musicalAlter Boyz .The original musicians from this group went on to work with such artists as
Jerry Cantrell of (Alice in Chains ),Bang Tango ,Texas Terri ,Zach Delarocha of (Rage Against the Machine ),Poision Idea ,Courtney Love .The S.F. Altar Boys were the only group to incorporate an actual functional
circus (courtesy of theSan Francisco School of Circus Arts ) and afreak show into their performance.Discography
