Klamath and Salmon Indian Wars was an American Indian battle which occurred in Oregon Territory and Idaho[ [http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~fraber/wars.htm U.S. War Involvement] ] in the first few months of the year 1855, (January - March). The Klamath are a Native American tribe originating in Southern Oregon and are of the Plateau culture. [ [http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~familyhistorypages/IndianWarsLocalDisturbances.htm Indian Wars & Local Disturbances 1782-1898] ] ]This battle is not to be confused with the Rogue River Wars which occurred in 1852 during the months of June 17 to July 3: 1953 during August 8 to September 1853 and 1856 from March to June.
