Since its evolution in 2005, the group has gone through many lineup changes. In early 2008, they announced that their project was discontinued to make way for another project entitled

The group met through friends in 2005, and Craig Kleila, Dylan Ebrahimian, and Elliott Park helped revive Mark Herburger's punk band, Local Embarrassment. Soon, however, there were lineup changes and they changed the name to The Farewell Effect. When lead singer Elliott Park left in 2006, bassist Dylan Ebrahimian took over as lead vocalist. Since then, the band has gone through many lineup changes, including a short history with bassist Jon Kurmanchik from the post-hardcore band Hope Drive, and Tom Angerbroich from the powerpop band
Stereo Skyline! . Mark Herburger, the former guitarist, now plays bass. Recently, the Farewell Effect has stated that they are changing their name.Members
