Sail Mohamed Ameriane ben Amerzaine (
October 14 ,1894 -April 1953) was anAlgeria n and French anarchist who fought in theSpanish Civil War .Born in
Kabylie ,French Algeria , Sail Mohamed served in theFrench Colonial Forces , then moved to France, where he was an activist in theUnion Anarchiste (UA) and theConfédération Générale du Travail-Syndicaliste Révolutionnaire (CGT-SR) and was founder (in 1923) with his friendSliman Kiouane of theCommittee for the Defence of Indigenous Algerians , one of the firstnational liberation movements in French North AfricaHe was a passionate anti-Stalinist, rejecting support from the Red Aid, a
front organisation of theFrench Communist Party , when he was prosecuted by the French authorities for an anti-militarist article. In 1936, heserved in theSébastien Faure Century , the French-speaking section of theDurruti Column , a anarchist anti-Francoist militia in Spain.ee also
