Bess Marvin

Bess Marvin is a character in the popular Nancy Drew mystery series. She is Nancy Drew's best friend and cousin of George Fayne. Her real name is Elizabeth. She's blonde, pretty, and blue eyed, and is easily scared when involved in Nancy's sleuthing. She's a Girly girl, the opposite of George who is a tomboy.

Bess is known for being 'boy-crazy', in particular falling for the villain-of-the-day in many of Nancy's mysteries. She is frequently kidnapped, along with her cousin, forcing Nancy to save them.

She loves to shop and to eat, in most of the books her cousin is forever getting on her for how much she eats. She is always trying to diet but they never work for her. Her boyfriend is Dave Evans. She and George were introduced in "The Secret at Shadow Ranch". In the Nancy Drew Girl Detective Series, Bess is a mechanic geek while her cousin George is a computer geek. Bess is a true romantic and she always enjoys helping out Nancy. Although George considers her to be a coward, Bess does sometimes surprise herself with her bravery.

In the Nancy Drew movie of 2007, Bess was played by Amy Bruckner.
