The DB rail vehicle classes Baureihe 795, Baureihe 796, Baureihe 797 and Baureihe 798 are series of two-axled lightweight
railbus es in use at theDeutsche Bundesbahn and later at Deutsche Bahn AG from the 1950s to the early 2000s. They were commonly called Schienenbus (lit. "railbus") in German. Most of these vehicles were built byWaggonfabrik Uerdingen , though a number of other manufacturers built their own variant. Counting all franchisees, a total number of 1492 units was produced between 1950 and 1971.Deutsche Bahn has decommissioned the vehicles by now, but a number of private train operating companies andheritage railway s continue to use them.
