German submarine U-317

Unterseeboot 317 or U-317 was a German World War II Type VIIC/41 submarine commissioned 23 October 1943. U-317 served with 4. Unterseebootflottille (U-Boat Flotilla) for training and later with 9. Unterseebootflottille from 1 June 1944 to 26 June 1943. U-317 completed two patrols, but did not sink any ships.

U-317 was sunk with all hands on 26 June 1944 northeast of the Shetlands by depth charges dropped by a Liberator of No.86 RAF Squadron.
