Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College (EHWLC) is one of the largest institutions in the Further Education sector. EHWLC is based on 4 sites, located in Acton, Ealing, Hammersmith and Southall. Together, EHWLC provides education for over 25,000 students.

Brief History

In 1975, the Hammersmith College of Art and Building, the Hammersmith College for Further Education and West London College merged to form Hammersmith and West London College. In January 2002, Hammersmith and West London College merged with Ealing Tertiary College to form Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College.

The college was awarded with Beacon Status from the Quality Improvement Agency. It already has 2 COVE's for media and construction. In 2008, the International Centre at the college was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise.

The college is part of the 157 group

The Current principal is Paula Whittle.

The college has developed its own MIS System called Centime.

Acton site (Acton & West London College)

Acton & West London College is mainly used for construction, ICT and GCSE Courses. It was recently awarded a COVE - A centre of vocational excellence.

The Acton site provides personnel services to the entire college.

The College Director is Amrik Marwaha.

Ealing site (Ealing & West London College)

Ealing & West London College incorporates the Sixth Form Centre offering students with mainly level 2 and level 3 qualifications. It also includes the Ealing Institute of Media which offers a number of media courses.

Opened in 2006 by former BBC Director-General Greg Dyke, The Ealing Institute of Media was designed to provide tailor made courses that offer both vocational experience and education along with the adequate amount of theory to provide students with what they needed to have a successful career within the media industry. Courses include standalone subjects such as Animation, Photography, and other areas at GCSE or Advanced Level (UK), but the college also offers BTEC qualifications that allow students to learn a wide variety of industry specific skills rather than just a small area.

Hammersmith Site (Hammersmith & West London College)

Hammersmith & West London College is the largest site within the college. The centre incorporates the Sixth Form Centre, West London College Business Services and a wide range of adult qualifications. The Sixth Form Centre offers level 2 and level 3 qualifications, whilst West London College Business Services provides training and skills to businesses and their employees.

Southall Site (Southall & West London College)

Southall & West London College is made up of the Sixth Form Centre, an adult learning division and a supported learning division. The Sixth Form centre was opened by Gurinder Chadha in September 2003 offers level 1 - 3 courses with a focus of Business and ICT. The site incorporates a training flat for students with special needs.
