Geography
The village is situated on a small hilltop covered with trees, palm trees and forests. The village contains around tens of houses and is home to around 60 to 100 persons.
The area around Cachoeiras made up of farmlands within the village and the valley areas and featuers crops includinf fruits and vegetables especially corn and
banana plantations, cattle, dairy (mainly in higher elevations) and more, the area are coveredewith abundant forest which makes up the northwestern parts that are very rich with palms, it features plants includinghydrangea s,hibiscus es and more. The rest of the area are made up of barren rocks with grasslands and bushes, the mountains covers the southern northern part. It has a wet climate.Information
Every houses are built with mud and brick as well as stone which was common until the mid-20th century. The living standards are around the low range as well as its income, one time, there were no money until the mid-20th century. The village is in the island's low to middle to upper class. Much of the population are farmers and are based in agriculture no other businesses are available. Students attend a nearby school in São Jorge. Electricity as well as communications, other necessities and phone lines were introduced and serves many houses since the mid-20th century and serves much of the population.
