Eric Fields (born June 14 1982) is an American professional boxer.

Amateur career

Fields started boxing in 2003 and became the 2005 and 2006 National Golden Gloves Heavyweight champion. In 2005 he beat Tony Grano.

Professional career

Fields turned pro in 2006 and won his first six fights, five by knockout, before knocking out Mexican 2003 PanAm Games champion and 2004 Olympian Ramiro Reducindo on July 27, 2007, in Corona, California in the first round.

On January 18, 2008, at Mallory Square in Key West, Florida, Fields defeated former IBF cruiserweight champion Kelvin Davis by technical knockout in just 55 seconds of the first round. Fields dropped Davis with the first right hand he threw. Davis immediately got up off the canvas, but then ran into a right uppercut-left hook combination from Fields that stunned him and left him open for more power shots. Fields finished him moments later with another barrage of punches that forced the referee to stop the fight.

His next fight took place on April 12, 2008, at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington, against Ola Afolabi. Fields was knocked down twice in round eight. Afolabi was able to stop Fields in round ten with an overhand right that put Fields down again. Fields beat the count, but an unanswered barrage of blows forced the referee to stop the bout
