January 18 ,2008 , atMallory Square inKey West, Florida , Fields defeated former IBF cruiserweight champion Kelvin Davis bytechnical knockout in just 55 seconds of the first round. Fields dropped Davis with the first right hand he threw. Davis immediately got up off the canvas, but then ran into a right uppercut-left hook combination from Fields that stunned him and left him open for more power shots. Fields finished him moments later with another barrage of punches that forced the referee to stop the fight.His next fight took place on
April 12 ,2008 , at theEmerald Queen Casino inTacoma, Washington , againstOla Afolabi . Fields was knocked down twice in round eight.
