Matthew Beard (born 25 March 1989) is an English film, model and television actor, best known for his role as Blake Morrison in the 2007 film And When Did You Last See Your Father?.

Life and career

Beard was born in London, England. He was a member of the children's acting agency in Leeds, Scala and is now with Independent, London.

He attended King Ecgbert School in Sheffield and achieved 11 A*s in his GCSEs and all As at A-level.

In 2007 he was seen as teenage Blake in And When Did You Last See Your Father?. His performance gained him rave reviews and saw him selected by Screen International as "A Star Of Tomorrow" and a "Trailblazer" at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He was also nominated for Best Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards and Best Newcomer at the Evening Standard British Film Awards.

He appeared in the 2009 film An Education, directed by Lone Scherfig. Previously, Beard starred as Tom in the 2002 film An Angel for May directed by Harley Cokeliss.

He appears in the forthcoming film Hippie Hippie Shake. He is a student of English at the University of York. He will also appear in Chatroom, a psychological thriller, with Aaron Johnson.

In 2011, he has modelled for the luxury English label Burberry.
