John Fordham was Bishop of Durham and Bishop of Ely.

He was keeper of the privy seal of Prince Richard from 1376 to 1377 and Dean of Wells before being named Lord Privy Seal in June of 1377. He held that office until December of 1381.Fryde "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 94]

He was nominated to Durham on September 9 1381 and consecrated on January 5 1382. He was translated to Ely on April 3 1388.Fryde "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 242]

He briefly served as Lord High Treasurer in 1386.Fryde "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 106]

He died on November 19 1425.Fryde "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 244]
