Ellen Herda

Ellen A. Herda, (born June 13, 1940), BA, Philosophy, University of Minnesota, PhD, Anthropology, University of Oregon, is a professor in the School of Education at the University of San Francisco. Dr. Herda is a renowned scholar of Paul Ricoeur, specializing in hermeneutics. Professor Herda is the author of "Research Conversations and Narrative: A Critical Hermeneutic Orientation in Participatory Inquiry" (1999), and has written extensively on International Development. Dr. Herda has taught at the University of San Francisco since 1980 and has also served as a visiting scholar at Stanford University.
