Chatham (film)

Chatham (film)

"Chatham" is a romantic comedy, set on Cape Cod in 1905, about three 70-year-old retired sea captains who try to lure an attractive middle-aged woman into marriage. The film is also known as "The Golden Boys". The film is an adaptation of the Joseph Lincoln novel "Cap’n Eri" and is expected to be released in 2008.

"Chatham" is to be directed by Daniel Adams and is starring Mariel Hemingway, Christy Scott Cashman, Charles Durning, Rip Torn, Bruce Dern, David Carradine and also featuring Stephen Russell, a popular voice actor known for his work on the "Thief" series and as Bob in the 2007 dramedy film "Noëlle". The cast also includes singer/songwriter Jonathan Edwards, who makes an appearance as Reverend Perley. He recently completed filming his role and is scoring the film.

Peter Boyle was to appear in this film but died on December 12, 2006 at the age of 71.

Two of Norman Mailer's sons are attached to the film which seems very appropriate as this film revolves around Cape Cod. Michael Mailer is the producer of the film and his younger brother [http://imdb.com/name/nm0537554/ Stephen Mailer] plays one of the two local ne'er-do-wells along with actor [http://imdb.com/name/nm1975841/ Donald Foley] . According to the [http://thetrack.bostonherald.com/moreTrack/view.bg?articleid=189356 Boston Herald] filming was done on location in Osterville, Massachusetts as of March 19, 2007. Other locations include Strong Island in Pleasant Bay, West Barnstable, Chatham, and Provincetown.
