Edith Eyde also known as Lisa Ben (born 1921) is an American editor, writer, and songwriter.
Biography
In the 1940s while working as a secretary in Los Angeles, she wrote and published nine issues of "Vice Versa", one of the first LGBT publications in North America. The magazine was published with the help of her friend
Forrest J Ackerman [http://4forry.best.vwh.net/lesbian.htm] Eyde was active early in the US gay rights movement. She wrote under the pseudonym "Lisa Ben," an anagram of "lesbian." Eyde was also an early member of theDaughters of Bilitis , although she left when the group moved in a more explicitly political direction.She currently lives in retirement in
