Wax Murdaraz

Wax Murdaraz

Wax Murdaraz are a crew of vinyl specialists united to enhance the public's understanding about the art of hip-hop deejaying and music production. The roots of the group date back over a decade in which founding members (Da Fly) D-Ex and DJ Professional (formally DJ Finesse) recorded several tapes in album form under the name ...Pest Realm from 1989 to 1995, eventually using the alias "Wax Murdaraz". In 1998, the duo began constructing turntable "band" routines to present in a live format. Wanting to add a third band player to the crew, D-Ex recruited B-Money (who has since produced music for Jay-Z, 50 Cent and others) in early 1999. Shortly thereafter D-Ex went on a scouting mission, securing the technical skills of the most well-rounded deejays he could find at the time to join the group. By late 1999, battle deejays Iceman and DJ K-Nine, club rocker and then deejay for Da Brat, Charlie Chan (currently deejaying for Darryl "DMC" McDaniels), as well as DJ Scratch protege' Mocha Sunflower respectively joined along. Through battling in competitions, D-Ex and K-Nine established good relations with 10-year plus battle legend King IXL, who was recruited in 2002. Wax Murdaraz Professional DJ Skool, located in St. Louis, Missouri, assists those with a desire to learn all aspects of hip-hop deejaying. Wax Murdaraz released an album in 2005 entitled "City Ta City Killin' Spree" which was executive produced by the group as well as scratch DJ legend Rob Swift. The album was released on their own record label Deep Krate Recordingz, and in 2007 they started their own radio show broadcasting weekly worldwide via KDHX called Deep Krate Radio.
