Yashodhara Ray Chaudhuri (born 1965) is a poet residing in
Kolkata ,West Bengal , India, and writing in Bangla (Bengali language). Publishing her works since 1993, she has six collections of poetry to her credit.*Panyasamhita (1996)(Psalms on Commodities) Published by Kabita Pakshik [http://www.kabitapakshik.50megs.com]
*Pisachinikabya ( 1998) ( the She –Demonic Verses) Published by Kabita Pakshik [http://www.kabitapakshik.50megs.com] : She won the literary award “Krittibas Puraskar” (1998) for the book. It is a book of love poems which talks about alienation, distorted relationships and loneliness as well.

*Radio-Bitan ( 1999) ( The Radio- Garden) Published by Proma: Poems of anger, love, human relations and the times.
*Abar Prothom theke Poro (2001) ( Read Anew from A)Published by Ananda Publishers [http://www.anandapub.com/category/kabita.htm] : Life and creation of life, especially child- birth, childhood and society, is the mainstay of this collection.
*Meyeder Projatantra (2005) ( The Republic of Women) Published by Saptarshi Prakashan: this collection brought the poet the Anita-Sunil Basu Smriti Puroskar ofPaschimbanga Bangla Akademi of 2006. It talks of different levels of the relationship between women in the section “ Jorajori kore sob narir bhetore gantha roilo mala” ( all women intertwined in one flower wreath). It also talks in the voice of the womb which compares itself to the womb of the grandmother and the mother. The other part, “Dharabahik Uponyas” ( Serialized Novelette) tells about the ongoing journey to and fro of the communication between women, across time, space, and generations.*Yashodhara's last published book is a collection of stories, "Meyeder Kichhu Ekta Hoyechhe", which contains 10 of her short stories written between 1989 and 2006. It was published in 2007 from Deep Prokashan.
*Her upcoming collection of poetry, titled " Kurukshetra, On-Line" will be published from Saptarshi Prakashan very soon.
Yashodhara was a student of Philosophy in the
Presidency College, Kolkata [http://www.presidencycollegekolkata.org] during 1984-89.
