Sergio Sánchez Ortega, Sánchez (born 3 April 1986 in Mataró), is a football player from Spain. He currently plays as a defender for RCD Espanyol.

A product of RCD Espanyol youth system, Sánchez debuted with the first team on April 24, 2005, playing 75 minutes from the bench in a 3-1 home win against Real Zaragoza.

In January 2007, he was loaned to second division Real Madrid Castilla and, at the end of the season, was loaned again, to "La Liga" Racing de Santander, where he appeared significantly as the side from Cantabria achieved a first ever UEFA Cup qualification.

In July 2008, Sánchez returned to Espanyol, netting his first goal for the Catalan side, in a 1-1 home draw with Getafe CF, on September 20.
