Archaeological Recording Kit

[http://ark.lparchaeology.com ARK] (Archaeological Recording Kit) is a kit of tools for collection, storage and dissemination of archaeological data. Ark is based on industry standard data technologies (Apache/MySQL/PHP/UMN Mapserver) and is opensource.

The key aspects of Ark are as follows:

* user friendly
* flexible and customisable
* full spatial data integration
* web based
* open for export/import

It has been developed by [http://www.lparchaeology.com L - P : Archaeology] and is an opensource project designed to use web-based technologies to aid archaeological site directors to build their own customised archaeological recording system.

The [http://www.fastionline.org/ Fasti Online] project is built using an ARK back-end and demonstrates it usage beyond normal archaeological recording.
