Overview

History

The company was founded by Joseph Wells, who was originally an explosives lighterman on the River Thames in London, England. The company established a reputation for the manufacture and display of the finest quality fireworks.Fact|date=November 2007

They were bought by a pyrotechnics company, Pyrojunkies Ltd who have retained the brand of Wells Fireworks. The ownership of Wells Fireworks has therefore remained in the Dartford area of Kent.Fact|date=November 2007 The actual manufacture of Wells Fireworks has now moved to Sussex. The remains of a number of buildings from the former factory can be seen in the Joyce Green area of Dartford.Fact|date=November 2007 Due to development in the area, these historic buildings face an uncertain future.
