Protected areas in Nepal

The protected areas of Nepal include nine National Parks, three Wildlife reserves, one Hunting Reserve, three Conservation areas and eleven Buffer zones. They occupy an area of 28,998.67 sq. km approximating 19.70% of the whole area of the country [cite web|url=http://www.dnpwc.gov.np/protected-areas.asp|title=Protected Areas in Nepal|accessdate=2007-09-17 ] .
