Stefan Rothe (born
August 8 ,1981 ) is a German semi-professionalroad bicycle racer .Originally from
Dresden ,Germany , Rothe moved to the USA in 2003 after receiving a cycling scholarship fromMidwestern State University inWichita Falls, Texas . He started with cycling already back in 1992, inspired by the Olympic Games held in Barcelona Spain that year. After racing with the RSV Dresden and DSC 1898 e.V. as a junior and U23 racer, Rothe made the move to the USA to pursue a Bachelor's Degree and continue cycling. In 2005 he placed 5 times in the Top 4 of UCI races in Central America, including a second place in Stage 4 at the Vuelta a El Salvador. At the beginning of the 2006 season, Rothe finished on the podium at the Collegiate World Championships [http://webhost.ua.ac.be/sportua/cycling2006/] held inAntwerp , Belgium. He won a total of 11 USCF races in the 2006 season. Rothe will ride for the Champion Systems Professional Cycling Team [http://www.champ-sys.com] in multiple UCI races in Asia during December '06 and January '07.
