"e"Mobility – The Mobile and Communication Technology Platform is the place for industry and academia to share visions and adopt a common Strategic Research Agenda for research and future development.The constantly growing number of members – now over 400, including over 141 academic institutions and over 139 SME’s, shows that the Technology Platform was established at the right time for Europe to achieve the goals set up at the Lisbon strategy.

In order to serve Europe’s need and to maintain its position in the global market for mobile and wireless systems in the 2010-2020 time horizon, it will be necessary now to develop large-scale European approaches to system research and development, and to mobile services and applications in the context of digital convergence.To this end, the "e"Mobility Platform will define and implement a comprehensive research agenda in the mobile and wireless sector.

The freedom of movement of people and business is growing as mobile and wireless technologies overcome constraints to communication. This process has already changed lifestyles and the economy in many ways. In the coming decades, technology developments will generate new possibilities to support people and businesses in many innovative ways.
