Religion als Kulturkritik as well as for writing about the occult.Biography
After completing her doctorate "Göttertrost in Wendezeiten. Neugermanisches Heidentum zwischen New Age und Rechtsradikalismus" ( at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, Stefanie von Schnurbein went on to write her habil (post-doctorate) "Krisen der Männlichkeit. Schreiben und Geschlechterdiskurs in skandinavischen Romanen seit 1890" [Crisis of Masculinity: Writing and Gender Discourse in Scandinavian Novels since 1890] at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
She is both professor for New Scandinavian Literature at the
Nordeuropa-Institut (Department for Northern European Studies ),Humboldt-Universität inBerlin and since 2005, Wigeland Visiting Professor in the Department of Germanic Studies at TheUniversity of Chicago .In 2006 she received an honorary doctorate from the Universität Örebro, Sweden
