Career
Parkinson played minor football for Laois in 1995 and 1996.[citation needed] He returned to the Laois setup for the 2011.[citation needed]
Parkinson played club football for Portlaoise and won Laois senior club titles in 1999, 2002, 2004 (Captain), 2007 and 2008.[citation needed] He also captained Portlaoise[1] to a Leinster Club title in 2004. The same year he earned the Leinster Club Player of the year and the Laois player of the year for his performances for Portlaoise. In 2009 he transferred to the Parnells club in Dublin.[2] He returned to Portlaoise again in 2011.
