Jamie Spencer (born
8 June 1980 ) is an Irishflat racing jockey who is considered one of the best jockeys currently riding in Britain andIreland . He has won many of the classic races his first being the 1998Irish 1,000 Guineas when he partnered Tarascon to victory. In 2005 and 2007 Spencer was British Champion Jockey, sharing the title on the latter occasion withSeb Sanders .Spencer was formerly stable jockey for
Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle until they parted company in 2005 after a difficult 2004. He was replaced as stable jockey byKieren Fallon .Spencer is married to
Channel 4 TV presenter Emma Spencer. His father was George Spencer, former National Hunt trainer inCounty Tipperary who famously trained the one-eyed Winning Fair to win theChampion Hurdle at Cheltenham in 1963.In the 2007 season Jamie Spencer shared the British flat racing Champion Jockeys title with
