"Hardwicke House" was a 1987 ITV sitcom produced by Central Independent Television. It caused such a negative reaction that is was cancelled after just two episodes.

It was set in a large school, featuring a teacher who was a multiple murderer, and a deputy headmaster who lusted after schoolgirls. The broadcast of the first two episodes (an hour-length premiere and a second 30-minute episode) on consecutive evenings caused such a storm of protest that the series was pulled from broadcast. The remaining five episodes have never been shown.

The remaining five untransmitted episodes included cameos from John Fortune, Bryan Pringle and, in the roles of highly dangerous boys straight out of Borstal, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson.
