- Games on ice
There are many recreational / fun games that can be played on ice during
ice skating besides official sports likeIce hockey ,Curling , orFigure skating . Some of them are the ice-skating versions of other tag games played on ground.Tag
The players select one or more chaser. The chasers have to catch the others by touching them. After this the caught person will be the chaser. It can be played that the new chaser can catch the person who just catch him/her immediately, or it's not allowed to catch the same person, or a time frame should be elapsed before that. It can be stated that only some part of the body can be touched (e.g. only legs) which makes the game harder.
Tag (variant)
The players (4-8 people) select one chaser, and the chaser points out one chased person. The chaser have to catch the chased person, the others can't be caught. But if somebody traverse through between the chaser and the chased, the new chased person will be that traversing person. (See diagram) There are many tactics for both the chaser and the chased person. E.g. the chased person can move in such a way that somebody moves between them, so a slower person can compensate by moving wisely. An outsider can help the chased person by traversing between the chased person and the chaser quickly. In this case the chaser must turn which slows them down. The person who is caught becomes the new chaser.
Pom-Pon
The game played on a rectangular area by 10-20 people. One person is selected as the first chaser, who goes to the middle of the rink. His/her role is to catch the others who try to get from one side to the other of the rink. The two opposite sides (10%-10% of the whole area) are considered 'base' where the catchers can't go. The caught people will become chasers too, and have to catch the remaining people. The one who remains the last uncaught person is the winner, and will be the first chaser of the next game. The winner has to catch only one person during the next game, and will be an ordinary player after he/she has caught somebody, so winning is not a punishment for anybody.
Tags-Out
The game played on a rectangular area by 10-20 people. 5-6 players are selected as the chasers. They have to chase the others. If somebody is caught, he/she has to go to the side of the rectangular area and holds the others caught players' hand forming a wall of the caught players. Some of the chasers will guard this wall; If an uncaught player touches the front of this wall the player shouts 'tags-out' and all the players will be free, and the chasing starts again from the beginning. If all the players are caught, the chasers win. If the chasers can't catch all the players within a time frame, a new game begun with other chasers.
