Doug Williams is a fictional character on the American soap opera "Days of our Lives". He has been portrayed by Bill Hayes since 1970.

Fictional character history

Doug Williams was introduced as Bill Horton's cell mate while Bill served his sentence for the manslaughter of Kitty Horton. While in jail, Bill kept on talking about Salem and Doug learned more and more. Bill also mentioned Susan Martin who inherited a fortune from her late husband Dave. When Doug was released from prison, he chased after Susan but she didn't fall for him but did pay him money to try and have an affair with Julie so she would break up from Scott Banning, Susan eventually called the deal off but it was too late.

He became a very wealthy man in July of 1979, when his wealthy half-brother Byron Chamberlain left him $5 million dollars, plus various properties. He is now retired and spends of her time traveling with his wife, Julie Williams.
