Hope Wilson (née Adams; previously Newman) was a fictional character on CBS soap opera "The Young and the Restless". The role was originated and played by Signy Coleman from 1993 to 1997, then again in 2000, 2002 and 2008. Coleman was briefly replaced by Beth Toussaint in mid-2006.

Hope Adams was born and raised on a farm in Kansas. She met business tycoon Victor Newman when he rescued her from a potential rape. Victor stayed at the farm and a relationship developed between the two and they evntually were married. Hope moved into Victor's world in Genoa City but she was never happy due to Victor being deeply involved in running Newman Enterprises. During this time Hope was being persued by a man from Kansas named Cliff Wilson who was extremely jealous of the affection and love Hope had for Victor. Hope gave birth in Kansas to Victor Adam Newman having been fed up with life in Genoa City. Her marriage to Victor ended in divorce and she moved back to her Kansas farm and married Cliff, who made it clear to Victor that he would be known as Victor Jr.'s father.

Hope ordered Victor to stay out of their son's life which he did but was able to see him a few times as a boy but other than that had no contact with his son. When Hope and Cliff married he legally adopted Victor Jr. for the next 27 years the boy never knew his father was Victor Newman.

Hope contracted cancer and revealed to her son that his father was Victor Newman and begged him to accept Victor as his father and give him a chance. She eventually died from the cancer.
