Eugene Ferry is a Northern Irish footballer who plays in the goal-keeping position at Derry City FC. He is viewed as a promising youngster who, although the third-choice goal-keeper at the club, is still awaiting his first-team breakthrough. Ferry has represented Northern Ireland at under-18 schools level. He played locally for Tristar Boys F.C. and had a trial at Sheffield Wednesday F.C.

During the 2006 eircom League season, the ideal chance arose for Ferry to take his place between the posts when Derry had their second-choice keeper, Pat Jennings Jr. (who was acting as replacement for first-choice, David Forde, who had been suspended due to being sent off in the previous FAI League Cup game against Shelbourne FC at the Brandywell), sent off in the first half of a game against Shelbourne FC at Tolka Park. Unfortunately, Stephen Kenny had not named a substitute goalkeeper for the game, suspecting that there would be very little chance of lightning striking the same spot in two respective games. Kenny's decision meant that while Ferry watched the game in frustration from the stands, Stephen O'Flynn, an attacking player, was brought on to play the second half in goals. The match concluded with O'Flynn conceding two soft goals, bringing the final score back to 2-2 after Derry had led 2-0 at half-time through Kevin Deery's Goal of the Season and a Patrick McCourt header.

On 05 December 2006, Ferry played in Gary Beckett's testimonial game against Donegal Celtic. Derry won the game 3-1.

Ferry currently attends St. Joseph's Boys' School where he is studying for his A-levels.
