Aleksandr Mikhailovich Butlerov (Александр Михайлович Бутлеров) (
September 15, 1828– August 17, 1886, new style) was a Russian chemist, one of the creators of the theory of chemical structure( 1857-1861), the first to incorporate double bonds into structural formulas, the discoverer of formaldehyde, and the discoveror of the formose reaction.
