Jeffrey "Jeff" Richmond (born January 7, 1960) is an American composer, actor and television producer. Richmond currently produces and composes the music for "30 Rock", a sitcom created by and starring his wife Tina Fey. The show recently completed its and will begin its October 30th, 2008.

Career

He worked at The Second City and Child's Play Touring Theatre before he began composing music for the series "Saturday Night Live". Richmond left "SNL" in 2006 to produce and compose music for the situation comedy, "30 Rock". The show's title is a reference to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where "SNL" is produced and "30 Rock" is set.

The show debuted to mostly positive reviews, however, ratings for its original timeslot on Wednesdays at 8 PM were weak. Rather than cancel the show, NBC moved the show into a revamped Thursday Must See TV comedy lineup (dubbed "Comedy Night Done Right") at the end of November sweeps. After its first episode in its new Thursday 9:30 PM timeslot on November 30, 2006, the network picked up the show for the entire season. Richmond has also appeared in a recurring role on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" as the short character of "Russian Hat Guy."

Jeff Richmond is married to Tina Fey, creator and cast member of "30 Rock".
