- MTX (automobile)
MTX is an
automobilethat has been made in Czechoslovakiaand now in the Czech Republicby "MTX R5 sp.o.o" of Praguesince 1969. "MTX" is short for "Metalex". Originally, it was a repair shop for Škoda racers.
The first single-seater racer ""MTX 1-01", appeared in 1970. During the 1980s,
Formula Eastercars, autocross buggies and rally cars (based on Škoda and Lada) were produced. In 1989 - 1990 Skoda Rapid convertiblewas made in a few copies in cooperation with the German Heinzingerfirm. In the 1990s, the company made 2 models: "MTX Roadster" (based on Skoda Favorit) and " MTX Cabrio" (based on Skoda Felicia). During the 1990s, a model named "MTX Tatra Sport" was made in 4 copies. Currently a beach buggywith a plastic body is offered, based on Hyundaiparts.
