Alexander Popp (born november 4 1976) is a German former professional tennis player

Born in Heidelberg, Germany. He currently lives in Mannheim, Germany and turned pro in 1997. He is 200 cm tall and has a weight of 187 pounds.

His career high ranking is 74 in singles and 266 in doubles. During his professional career, he accumulated a win/loss record of 45–65. Popp's career highlights were making the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon championships in 2000 (defeating 4th seed and eventual year-end No.1 Gustavo Kuerten in straight sets en route), and in 2003 (where he had a two-set lead against eventual runner-up Mark Philippoussis but eventually lost 8–6 in the final set). He also reached the fourth round the following year, but was beaten in straight sets by eventual runner-up Andy Roddick. In Popp's doubles career he made the semi finals of the Ho Chi Minh City championships partnering Jiří Vaněk from Domazlice, Czech Republic.

Popp's coach was Helmut Luthy, who coached him from 1994 until he retired. Popp started tennis at the age of 8, his favourite surface is grass, and he plays right-handed.
