Kenneth Bentley (Ken) Kramer is a former Republican member of the
United States House of Representatives fromColorado .Born
February 19 ,1942 , inChicago , Kramer grew up in the city's suburb ofSkokie, Illinois . He attended the University of Illinois, and after earning his degree, enteredHarvard University , from which he received hisJuris Doctor . In 1966, he was admitted to the bar, and by 1970, he had risen to the position of assistant district attorney for the state's Fourth Judicial District.In 1972, Kramer was elected to the
Colorado House of Representatives and served for three terms until 1978. That year, he was elected to Congress to serve the first of four terms. He retired in 1987 to challenge to run forUnited States Senate , but lost to DemocratTim Wirth .Since retiring, Kramer has held several positions. He was an Assistant Secretary to the Army, dealing with financial management. Kramer has been an associate judge for the federal court of appeals and a chief judge for the
Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims . He retired in 2004.External links
